Nehemiah Retreat

Sunday, August 1 through Friday, August 6, 2010, at Unity Village

Rebuild. Renew. Rejoice.

Join us for the third Nehemiah Retreat of 2010 as we rebuild and restore the sacred grounds of Unity Village. In exchange for repair work every day, you'll enjoy:

• Programs focusing on fellowship, spiritual renewal and growth.
• Room and board for the week.
• A celebratory banquet.
• The opportunity to do “a great work.” (Neh. 6:3)

This will be a unique retreat experience as our guests are directly involved with these restoration projects: 

Repair and replace deteriorating stucco surfaces at Unity Institute®*
(Ongoing project, weather permitting) Useful skills include experience in mixing mortar, installing stucco on vertical surfaces, and using electrical hand tools and wheelbarrows.

Rebuild stone walls near the swimming pool*
(Ongoing project, weather permitting) Stones will be gathered and laid into the wall. Useful skills include mixing mortar, laying stones, and operating hand tools.

*These projects require the ability to lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds and working on your feet outdoors for up to three hours a day in hot temperatures. Supervision and tools will be provided. 

Interior and exterior painting
(Weather permitting) Useful skills include painting experience and the ability to work on your feet inside or outside in hot temperatures.

This Nehemiah Retreat will run concurrently with the summer Spiritual Education and Enrichment Session C. Bring a friend, partner or spouse to enjoy a SEE experience while you work at personal spiritual renewal as you restore the sacred grounds of Unity Village. Other volunteer opportunities for spouses or friends are available. Please indicate if you will be bringing anyone with you.
