What is the difference between a SpiritPath Retreat and a Workshop?
A SpiritPath Retreat incorporates activities, such as prayer, worship experiences, experiential activities, daily meditation, personal rejuvenation, and a celebration retreat banquet. The SpiritPath Team and the featured speaker work together to design and cocreate the retreat theme and to facilitate the schedule of retreat activities.

During SpiritPath retreats, the program team hosts a banquet celebration. The cost of the banquet is included in accommodations with meals. If you are a commuter, we encourage you to join us for the banquet, which is a fun and exciting way to honor our time together. Commuters who chose not to purchase a meal package will still be able to purchase a banquet ticket when they check in at the Unity Village Hotel and Conference Center. The cost of a banquet ticket is $20. Please note: SpiritPath Workshops do not feature a banquet.

To further broaden and enhance its spiritual offerings, SpiritPath also offers workshops led by world-renowned teachers, authors, and creative thinkers, which are in alignment with Unity's teachings. These workshops are designed, facilitated, and led by the presenter featuring content and a timetable of activities to specifically support the workshop's theme and topic. The SpiritPath Team will be on hand to welcome, orientate, and support you
during your stay.

What time do SpiritPath Retreats begin?
Please note that SpiritPath retreats have a different timetable than workshops. Details are provided below:

SpiritPath Retreats Hotel check-in (for all types of room accommodations on campus) takes place at the Unity Village Hotel Conference Center, located closest to Colbern Road entrance of Unity Village. Whatever entrance you use, you can follow the green line marked on the road to the hotel. Hotel check-in time is 3 p.m. or sooner if your room is ready. If you arrive early, your bags can be held for you until your room is ready.

Retreat check in and welcome typically takes place between 2 to 5 p.m. in the hotel lobby, where you can pick up your retreat packet and submit your release form.

What time do SpiritPath Retreats end?
SpiritPath Retreats that typically end on a Sunday will end by 10:15 a.m. so that guests may, if they choose, have the opportunity to attend the Unity Village Chapel Sunday Service that begins at 10:30 am. Other retreats that do not end on a Sunday typically end by noon the latest. Hotel check-out time is 11 a.m., although a later time can be requested. If necessary, your bags can be held for you until your departure.

On the final day, lunch is included for guests with a full accommodations or meal package. Lunch typically ends by 1 p.m..

What time do Workshops begin and end?
Starting and ending times will vary for each individual workshop, so be sure to check the schedule.

To view the schedule, visit our calendar page and select the workshop you are interested in. A link to the schedule will appear on that page, as soon as it is available. This schedule is a preliminary look at your day's activities and is subject to change.

On-Campus Accommodations
Unity Village Hotel/Motel and Conference Center has a total of 50 hotels rooms, 52 motel rooms, and 28 cottage rooms; pricing varies by amenities. Reservations are made on a first-come first-served basis, and at any given time there could be several different events on campus, where on-campus lodging could be limited. However, we have established relationships with local hotel/motels and would be happy to provide you with their name and phone number should you need off-campus accommodations. *Off-campus accommodations: please refer to Meal Package Section.

Retreat/Workshop Caps
There are times due to the topic or nature of a retreat/workshop/event, in order for participants to fully experience the event, that a limit or cap may be placed on the number of participants. Any limits or caps will be disclosed on the event's Web landing page; www.spiritpathonline.org/calendar.

What to bring?
Retreats: please bring the release form that was enclosed in your participant Confirmation Packet.

  • Rain gear—because you just never know!
  • Generally, paper and pens are provided.

Bringing a group to a retreat/workshop?
Is there a Group Coordinator incentive?
Yes. For a Group Coordinator to qualify for the incentive, the group must include 20 or more participants. Once that number is reached, there will be one incentive available for each additional group of 20.

Does the 20 participants include the Group Coordinator?
No, the Group Coordinator would be number 21.

What is the incentive?
The Group Coordinator incentive includes the retreat/workshop registration and meals. It will also include lodging, subject to availability. In the event on-campus lodging at Unity Village is sold out, SpiritPath will not be able to reimburse the Group Coordinator for any expenses incurred for off-campus lodging arrangements.

How does the Group Coordinator incentive work?

  • Each group member makes their own registration for the retreat or workshop and their on-campus hotel reservations.
  • The Group Coordinator compiles a list of all group members who have registered.
  • On arrival, the Group Coordinator turns in the compiled list, containing the details for all 20 or more participants to a member of the SpiritPath program team.
  • Once SpiritPath has verified the list, a refund for the registration fee, meals and lodging, if applicable, is made to the Group Coordinator's credit card.

Continuing Education Units (CEU)
Some SpiritPath retreats, workshops, and special events may qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEU) through the Department of Health and Human Services at Johnson County Community College for a small additional fee ($12) and will be denoted on the event's Web landing page.

The procedure for participants to obtain credits, if applicable:

  • For verification of time, participants will be asked to sign in each day.
  • Participants will receive a CEU form, in which they will complete and mail to the JCCC along w/$12 check.
  • Based on the daily sign-in sheets, JCCC will verify participation.
  • Participants will receive a certificate of completion from JCCC in which the participant will then file/send to their governing board for credit.
