Silent Unity Leadership Changes

November 2, 2015

UNITY VILLAGE, MO.—Rev. Patricia Bass of Overland Park, Kan., has been appointed Interim Vice President of Silent Unity. The appointment follows the retirement of longtime Silent Unity Vice President Rev. Lynne Brown. Brown, a beloved figure in the Unity movement, will step down at year-end after 36 years of service to Silent Unity.

Unity World Headquarters President and CEO Charlotte Shelton announced the appointment to Unity Village employees in an email on October 30. She wrote, “Patricia is known for her deep commitment to prayer and I have personally witnessed her prayer consciousness while serving with her on our Board of Directors. Rev. Patricia has graciously rearranged her personal schedule in order to begin her work at Silent Unity on November 3. This will enable her to get acclimated to the role before Lynne Brown’s retirement and carry forth the great work that has been done by Lynne.”

Ordained a Unity minister in 1998, Bass has served Unity churches in Houston, Texas, and Overland Park, Kan. She has been a member of multiple teams and boards throughout the Unity movement, including her recent tenure on the Unity World Headquarters Board as Vice Chair. Before becoming a minister, Bass was an executive in the financial industry.
