I am happy to announce that Jim Blake has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unity World Headquarters at Unity Village. It’s a joyous homecoming for this gifted leader, who served as UWH Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Operations from 2006 to 2011. Jim was the youngest professional ever appointed to the Executive Team and was responsible for many of the innovative operational and technological advancements made during this time.
Equally important, Jim was also enrolled in our Master of Divinity program, where he passionately engaged in spiritual exploration with faculty and fellow students. Some of you may recall the lively conversations Jim cohosted on the Unity Online Radio programs Unity Happy Hour and Good Business. As a side note, Jim’s wife Denise was instrumental in the launch and development of UOR. Together Jim and Denise have been engaged with the Unity movement for almost 20 years.
Jim left his position and ministerial studies in 2011 to pursue his other passion, which is technology. Most recently, he served as vice president of product development at Rhythm Engineering in Lenexa, Kansas, one of the fastest growing startups in the U.S. Before that, he was the director of North American customer operations for the global energy management company Landis+Gyr.
With his commitment to leading-edge innovation, entrepreneurial zeal, and rigorous pursuit of Truth principles, Jim embodies the spirit of the Fillmores. He is the right and perfect transformational leader for Unity World Headquarters.
Or as Jim puts it, “There has been no better time in our history to leverage the latest technology and communication mediums to reach new generations and demographics sharing ideas and principles that have been changing lives for more than 100 years.”
You’ll also be able to personally connect with Jim over the coming months. He will be attending UWM regional meetings this fall and reaching out to meet other friends around the country. Plus you’ll soon be able to follow him on Facebook and Twitter—a first for our CEO!
In closing, my appreciation goes out to all who participated in the selection process, especially my fellow CEO Search Committee members: Committee Chair Rev. Bill Englehart, Dr. Blake Williamson, Dr. Doug Harris, Rev. Carolyne Mathlin, and UWH Human Resources Director Kim Ames. I also want to thank the UWH Executive Team for their insightful commentary during the interviews.
