A Commitment to Unity

With a world in the midst of so many crucial challenges, the Unity movement is uniquely positioned to be a global source of inspiration and transformation. Our numbers continue to grow—900 ministries worldwide; 700 in North America alone. We also continue to grow more united as a whole, our sense of purpose clearer.

Now, for the first time, the Association of Unity Churches International has a shared vision—a vision we can achieve together. It calls us to a new level of stewardship for our human family and our earth home:

Centered in God, we co-create a world that works for all.

Accompanying this vision is our Association's new strategic plan. Built from the field up, it provides a roadmap for sharing our message and manifesting a world that works for all. The plan's three powerful intentions are specific and attainable:

•    Become the fastest growing transformational spiritual movement in the world by supporting the continued emergence of enlightened leaders and thriving ministries in Unity.

•    Work with leaders around the world to co-create a world that works for all.

•    Partner with others to get the New Thought message to the world.

A commitment to you

Serving you is the highest priority for our Association's home office. As we align our actions with our strategic intentions, we are able to offer increased support to our leaders and member ministries.

Examples of our latest efforts include:

•    Thriving in Unity and Practice of Thriving programs for ministries.

•    Continued development of the Transformation Experience™, implementing leadership development and the Thriving Ministries Model, a new holistic approach to ministry development.

•    Successful International Youth Of Unity Youth of Unity Peace Ambassador Leadership Training.

•    Uniting with our partner, Unity School, to create this one Web site together.

• Exploring joint branding with Unity School and the Association.

•    Enacting new Association Board of Trustees tithing policies that model the spiritual principle of tithing and the practice of thriving.

In addition to these new initiatives, we continue to offer members:

•    Top-notch youth and family curriculum.
•    Tax-exempt status and tax advice.
•    Minister and board support services.
•    Comprehensive employment network.
•    Retirement fund for church staff.
•    Downloadable materials for marketing, prosperity and other church administration areas.

A commitment to act

Momentum is building within our Association. Like a rosebud in springtime it holds the promise of a fulfilled destiny.

Our new strategic plan, new programs and services, and renewed commitment to serving you in meaningful ways are important first steps.

But they're only the beginning. Living our potential and achieving our vision will take a shared commitment to act.

Currently, about 45 percent of the Association's budget is covered by ministry tithes. The remaining 55 percent comes largely from individual donors as well as program fees and grant funding. Relying on large donations from a handful of individuals leaves us vulnerable to changes in personal giving priorities.

Our goal is to have at least 65 percent of our budget funded by the regular tithes we receive from our members. This goal is easily reached if every ministry begins tithing regularly to our Association, with most ministries tithing 5 percent or more.

In Unity we know that when we set an intention and put action behind it, we have the power to manifest great things.

If every ministry in our Association makes a commitment to tithing a fair share, we will have enough funding to meet our goals, fulfill our intentions, and bring forth our vision.

A commitment to celebrate

To acknowledge and celebrate those who have made a commitment to give, we created the Celebration Circles program.

CELEBRATION CIRCLES

How it works:

Each ministry can download 12 monthly tithe forms and other materials. At the close of each month, member ministries are asked to calculate their tithe to our Association based on their monthly income, complete the form, and send the tithe and the form to the Association of Unity Churches International, PO Box 610, Lees Summit, MO 64063.

Ministries that send a tithe of any amount for each month of the year, will be acknowledged at the following year's People's Convention.

Member ministries that tithe at the following levels will receive additional recognition:

CIRCLE OF THREE

Tithing at the three percent level: Intended for those not currently tithing, this level allows member ministries to gradually join the community of supportive ministries.

HIGH 5 CIRCLE

Tithing at the five percent level: Member ministries who tithe at five percent will be recognized in the High 5 Circle. Members tithing at this level offer a true base of strength for our Association.

PARTNER'S CIRCLE

Tithing at the 7.5 percent level and above: For those ministries who are ready to step into a new era of coherence for our Association, tithing at this level will be recognized in the Partner's Circle.

Member ministries who join the High 5 and Partner's Circles will receive:

•    One free convention registration per ministry with a paid registration.
•    A special luncheon at convention.
•    An invitation to two unique opportunities for input and interaction regarding our Association's direction.

• A special preconvention brunch.
• A special luncheon at midyear meetings.
