Teleconference Your Service in Bad Weather
A record amount of snow hit Maryland right before Valentine's Day in 2010. Church board members of Unity by the Bay (Severna Park) decided on Saturday to host the Sunday, February 14, service by teleconference.
They sent an e-mail blast announcing the plans and the call-in number to the congregation. The 30-minute service included a prayer, guitar music, and a guided meditation.
Thirty-five callers were officially registered as participants; however, some families and couples were on a shared line. A typical Sunday service might be 50 people. Board members were pleased with the attendance and received wonderful feedback.

June Miller (1983) has created an inexpensive marketing tool for churches. It is a business size card which has the name of the church, address and service times on the front, and an affirmation on the back. It can be handed out, put on bulletin boards around town or printed in a local newspaper. Links here as MS Word documents are free. Contact June for more information, different formats or additional wording at sacredjourney2@comcast.net
