Our guess is that you're someone who longs for this kind of freedom during your vacations, and that you do everything you can to ensure it. We'll bet you're also someone who would love a “vacation with God.”
Endless Possibilities
Vacations with God come in many forms – spiritual retreats, prayer and meditation and even leisurely strolls or quiet interludes in nature. This might also include reading the Bible or other spiritual books, listening to beautiful music, journaling, attending church services and many other possibilities.
Rest your Spirit
Unity cofounder Charles Fillmore refers to time apart with God as “the true Sabbath,” which, he says, is that state of spiritual attainment where we cease from all personal effort and all belief in our own efforts and rest in the consciousness that “the Father who dwells in me does his works” (John 14:10). Fillmore adds that “the Sabbath is kept anytime we enter into spiritual consciousness and rest from thoughts of temporal things.”
Opportunities Abound
Here at Unity we specialize in creating spiritual vacations with God, or true Sabbaths. The most popular are our weekend or weeklong retreats at beautiful Unity Village. These retreats are theme-based and often feature renowned speakers. We also offer a wide variety of spiritual enrichment classes, both online and on campus, as well as at Unity churches around the country.
On September 11 you can join with us for World Day of Prayer – right here or from wherever you happen to be on that day. It's an annual event that unites us all as a spiritual family to bless the world through prayer.
If you enjoy time with God through spiritual reading and listening, Unity publishes many inspiring books, pamphlets and magazines like Daily Word and Unity Magazine. These, as well as our CDs and tapes, provide nourishment for the soul.
To help you reconnect with your Source at the deepest levels, Unity offers affirmative prayer 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These sacred moments in prayer for healing, guidance, comfort, prosperity and many other immediate concerns can clear the way to the joy of oneness with God.
Take the Time
As each of us needs time away from the workaday world, we also need time apart with God. Time to rest and recuperate, renew and restore. Time to drink deeply from the wellspring of God's love.
If you feel parched by the constant demands of the world and thirst for the cool, living waters of Spirit, let us help you. Let us give you the time and space for a truly transformational vacation with God.
