Revelation 2:23

This verse is from a letter dictated to the church in Thyatira, one of a series dictated to several spiritual centers in Asia Minor. Each letter begins with praise and ends with criticism.

Jeremiah 6:24-26

The prophecies of Jeremiah very often include warnings about invaders coming from the north. In general, they are seen as consequences of the choices of the Hebrew people and—in particular—of their leaders.

2 Peter 2:19

The purpose of 2 Peter is twofold: to strengthen faith in the imminent return of Jesus Christ and to warn against false teachers. This verse is part of the second purpose.

Matthew 18:12-14

In his Metaphysical Bible Dictionary, Charles Fillmore writes that sheep "represent the natural life that flows into man's consciousness from Spirit." I think the phrase "natural life" is important.

Titus 3:4-5

No one is certain whether this letter was written by Paul from his house arrest in Rome or after the style of Paul by someone else. It's a pastoral letter filled with instructions about carrying the message to new places, especially to Crete.

John 11:4

I can only imagine how challenging it must be to live with chronic illness. What Jesus is saying here is that we have the ability, as the Christ, to use any of our life experiences as opportunities to make loving, creative choices.
