Luke 23:28-31

I think your understanding is excellent. The women are weeping over Jesus' arrest; he is warning them that there are more challenging days to come.  Perhaps "the wood" that is green represents his own presence and message.

Revelation 2:23

This verse is from a letter dictated to the church in Thyatira, one of a series dictated to several spiritual centers in Asia Minor. Each letter begins with praise and ends with criticism.

Jeremiah 6:24-26

The prophecies of Jeremiah very often include warnings about invaders coming from the north. In general, they are seen as consequences of the choices of the Hebrew people and—in particular—of their leaders.

2 Peter 2:19

The purpose of 2 Peter is twofold: to strengthen faith in the imminent return of Jesus Christ and to warn against false teachers. This verse is part of the second purpose.

Matthew 18:12-14

In his Metaphysical Bible Dictionary, Charles Fillmore writes that sheep "represent the natural life that flows into man's consciousness from Spirit." I think the phrase "natural life" is important.
