What Is Faith?

What Is Faith?

Faith, like wholeness itself, is a divine idea. A divine idea exists beyond the domain of time and space. We cannot describe it, define it or conceptualize it. A divine idea has infinite possibilities for expressing itself within the realm of time and space. As with any divine idea, we can know faith only through direct experience. It is like the wind; we can see its effect but we cannot see the thing itself.

Faith can be expressed as a so-called miracle, and faith can be expressed in the quiet workings of nature. Its true character is a mystery. Its manifestations may be mysterious or commonplace. Faith is the power to see a possibility, and it is the power to realize that possibility.

God's Law of Justice Cannot Fail

God's Law of Justice Cannot Fail

Does life seem unfair to you? Does it seem that others find it easier to have the things they want and need, that others are blessed with good dispositions, with good looks, with splendid abilities? If you entertain any such thoughts, you need to reestablish yourself in the consciousness of justice. First of all, in thinking such thoughts you are not being just to yourself.

To establish yourself in a thought of justice, think about ideas such as the following:

The Law of Visualization

The Law of Visualization

One of the most important aspects of the study of Truth is training the eyes to see properly. Since infancy we have been using our eyes in progressive degrees of perceptiveness. However, a person is never really mature until he or she understands the basic process of visualization. We have been conditioned to believe that life is lived from outside-in. We see things "out there," and we react with attitudes and feelings about them. Without question, what we see is as it is. Seeing is believing! This may give rise to defeatist comments, such as, "What are you going to do? It's just the way things are!"

The Law of Vibration

The Law of Vibration

Vibration is everywhere, at the root of all things. Even the "simple" act of voice communication is really not so simple. Thought vibrations in one person lead to vibrating vocal cords sending forth sound waves that vibrate another's ear drums; then the vibrations are decoded into some kind of awareness leading to thought vibrations in the other person. ...

Squeeze out all the space of your body and you will have the bulk of a speck of dust. And yet, when those particles are singing their songs of life, you have a body that breathes and walks and talks and dances. You are a vibration.

The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction

... We can never understand Truth or life until we give up, once and for all, the idea of favoritism in the universe, and until we stop praying to be forgiven before we have changed our own attitudes. God plays no favorites. If you have your finger in a socket and are being shocked, you can pray all you want but nothing will happen until you remove your finger.

The Unconditioned Power

The Unconditioned Power

There is a great need in the world today for a religion that is practical and livable. We need a philosophy that leads us to a sense of unity with the Infinite and with the infinite number of human personalities with whom we live and do business. We need a concept that leads to the release of our innate potential for wholeness of mind and body, serenity of spirit, happy and prosperous living, and for the creative fulfillment of the persons we are intended to become. Actually, we need go no further than the teachings of Jesus, but we must go further with these teachings.

You Can Meet Life With Faith

You Can Meet Life With Faith by Martha Smock

Has something happened to cause you grief or unhappiness? Meet it with faith—the faith that God is with you, the faith that God is present in everyone and in every situation. Meet it with the faith that God can be trusted to bless and to make all things right.

Meet it with faith! As you look past what seems to be and hold to the truth that nothing can separate you from God's love, that nothing is greater than God's power in you, your cares slip away and the joy of Spirit rises up in you.

I Am There

I Am There by James Dillet Freeman

Do you need Me?
I am there.
You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.
You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands.
I am at work, though you do not understand My ways.
I am at work, though you do not recognize My works.
I am not strange visions. I am not mysteries.
Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me as I am, and then but as a feeling and a faith.
Yet I am there. Yet I hear. Yet I answer.
When you need Me, I am there.
Even if you deny Me, I am there.
Even when you feel most alone, I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.

Go After What You Want

Go After What You Want

I came home from a shopping excursion the other day to find a wild bird, which appeared to be a Grackle, flying around the inside of my house. She slammed into every window she could find in an attempt to escape. After several attempts to steer toward an open window, she finally flew out. I remember thinking that there were no obvious ways a bird could have gotten into our house, but weird things happen from time to time. I gave a sigh of relief and chalked it up as a sign of something to figure out later.

In Everything, Have Faith in God!

TODAY IS THE DAY to keep on having faith in God. In everything, have faith in God's love and wisdom at work in your life. In everything that has already occurred, choose to have faith and know that God's presence and power were active. In everything happening in this moment, have faith that God is present and in control of all details. In thoughts of the future, again take hold of the idea: In everything, I have faith in God!
