EGO = Edging God Out

A provocative question has arisen about the law of attraction and the idea that our thoughts and feelings create our experience: If we believe that we create our own reality, where is God?

How presumptuous, some might say, to imply that we are in charge! Isn't that just running rampant with our egos, thinking we can control everything, when in fact we should be seeking God's will? Who are we to see ourselves as creators of our own experience? Shouldn't we turn to God for guidance rather than ourselves?

Your Thought Is Your Life

In 1959 Unity first published Charles Fillmore's The Revealing Word. For the law of attraction he wrote: “The law that all conditions and circumstances in (our) affairs and body are attracted to us in accord with the thoughts we hold steadily in consciousness.”

So how is this attraction possible?

It's based on the fact that everything in the universe is energy. We are mass energy. Yes, we have a body and yes, we are spirit, and all of that is energy in different forms. We send energy forth from our consciousness that is directed by our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
