If I could give a tagline to Daily Word, it would be: The little publication that lightens and brightens each day. Each theme, affirmation, message, and biblical passage serves to refocus daily concerns. Through its words, I can feel uplifting energy.

Daily Word sets a perfect tone of positivity for each day. I like reading it early in the morning when the world is quiet to help my day unfold in an affirmative manner. This time of quiet contemplation is private but complemented by the realization that others worldwide are reading the same words, perhaps simultaneously. The devotional guide imparts an understanding of universal spiritual connectedness, of our individualizations of the Divine.

We Are Never Alone

Daily Word helps me realize we are never alone—that as spiritual beings having a human experience, we are forever connected to a higher power and to all human beings on a spiritual level. In a world where feelings of loneliness prevail, I believe this connection is most important. I know when I’m feeling lonely, just seeing the cover of the Unity publication seems to say, “Hey, you’re never alone. We’re in this life together.”

When I’m going through a challenge and read Daily Word to lift me from the doldrums, it’s an added comfort to remember the message writer is a person not unlike myself, with similar problems and concerns. Yet the writers raise their consciousness to a higher level to inspire others. I am called to do likewise.

Daily Word helps me realize we are never alone—that as spiritual beings having a human experience, we are forever connected to a higher power and to all human beings on a spiritual level.

Daily Word Affirmations

The Daily Word affirmations are tools to change consciousness, and I have used them to my benefit, such as focusing on their spiritual assurance—rather than pain—before and after surgery.

I remember once before I was to have a major operation, a nurse came into my room to find my bed strewn with copies of Daily Word. Replying to her question of what all the “little magazines” were, I told her they were treasures I constantly read to help cheer me when I feel overwhelmed and down in the dumps.

She asked for a copy to help her through her shift. I gave her two issues and a hug.

A Traveling Companion

Daily Word has become a traveling companion, the first item I pack when making my annual trek to a beloved Florida beach. Nothing is more inspirational than sitting with the roaring surf and reading a Daily Word devotional.

I grab it in an emergency or when I know I will be spending time in a medical waiting room. I read it in traffic jams. Through the years, Daily Word has become a friend to reach for when challenges come, a friend that gives me an anchor of faith, a friend that inspires me to new spiritual understanding.
