Why is every Christmastime
the happiest time of year? 

There has to be a reason for
such unbridled cheer. 

Neighbors greeting, families meeting,
scents of sweet delight, 

Parties, gifts, and trimming trees,
carols in the night; 

For one brief moment, we dare believe,
all is merry and bright.
