Your Inner Lotus Blossom
Beauty can emerge even in the untidiest life moments. I admire the lotus flower not only for its beauty but for the symbolic story behind its growth process. The pure white petals suggest it may originate in a pristine pond. It’s quite the opposite. Instead, they emerge from the murkiest of waters. It reminds me that the Creator has an amazing way of using the messiness in our lives to birth the most beautiful things if we’re open to trusting the process.
You may not imagine right now that God can take the agony you’re feeling to ignite your superhero status. The Spirit will activate a bloom within you for your personal growth and to be imparted to someone else. God’s purpose is always dualistic. It serves us and it causes us to serve others. Though you may have found yourself asking God “Why me?” I invite you to ask God, “What are you teaching me and what do you want me to share with someone else from this experience?”
A Greater Awareness
There are two biblical passages that ask the question: Is anything too hard for God? (See Genesis 18:14 and Jeremiah 32:27.) The answer, of course, is no, nothing—including taking the broken pieces of your heart, putting them back together, and creating within you the power to soar. I’m not promising you another love but something greater. A greater awareness of who you are in God. A deeper understanding of who God is to you. The opportunity to let God spark within you a shift from your greatest moment of desperation to your greatest inspiration.
I believe eventually the Divine can reveal to you the ways this moment can be made purposeful. It may be that you grow in your relationship expectations, it may be that you drop it in a sermon or book, or you may give advice to a young girl who comes behind you.
The Creator has an amazing way of using the messiness in our lives to birth the most beautiful things if we’re open to trusting the process.
The packaging for "Superheroes," a song by The Script, reimagines the Man of Steel moniker to help listeners invoke the strength we all have within us. The lyrics introduce us to heroes who developed their powers and hearts of steel by experiencing life's knocks. I know you may not feel it now, but you’re learning in this painful situation to be your own superhero and discover your own superpowers. Your greatness is emerging because you can find purpose despite your pain.
I believe in your superhero status. I believe you are getting ready to fly and create magic that is beyond your comprehension. Because if God allowed it into your life, then God will help you use it for good. Just wait on it.—T.H.
Affirmation
I’m a hero, I’m a survivor, and I have purpose that is revealing itself in this heartbreak.
Reflection
Is it hard to imagine that God makes all things beautiful, even the pain of heartbreak? If God led you to someone with a broken heart today, what could you say to encourage them?
