Morning Hymn
By Susan Young
Birds stir in their nests
and break the silence of the dawn.
Flowers shake off the morning dew
and open up as if reborn.
Butterflies ride on the breeze
and lift their wings in silent prayer.
A choir of alto bumblebees
hums through the morning air.
All the creatures wake and stir
as the sun peeks through the morning haze.
Let’s join those of feather, scales, and fur
as all creation sings God’s praise.
