The Bible—Which Version?
Question:
My girlfriend told me she wants a Bible that is readable. Before she buys the ‘Good News’ Bible or one of those reader’s digests updated for today’s audience Bibles, I want to give her one that is used in Unity. I keep using my KJV because I love the old language, but that old language is a barrier for her.
Comment:
While there’s no ‘official’ Unity version of the Bible, the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) is used by almost all Unity ministers and centers. It’s objective and accurate. And it reads very well. The NRSV is available in a number of editions. I use the Oxford Annotated Bible, published by Oxford University Press, because its notes are outstanding—clear and very helpful. It’s widely available—on amazon.com and elsewhere.
Blessings!
