"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12 RSV).

Comment:

The overall theme of chapter 4 is Jesus nowhere promises us that following in his path would be easy. We are moving toward our own sabbath, the author writes, just as God rested on his Sabbath in Genesis. But the time is not yet. Our spiritual purpose as the Christ on earth is to make manifest the new consciousness that Jesus describes as the 'kingdom of God.' It may seem daunting, but in Truth we have all we need: the creative word of God, which is a metaphysical image of the divine creative Power that is our true identity. ("In the beginning was the Word ...") This creative Power is all we need: living and active, sharp and piercing, expressing not through the activity of our thinking but by knowing the true belief in our heart.

Blessings!
