Mark 2:19-20
"Jesus said to them, 'The wedding guests cannot fast while the bridegroom is with them, can they? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast on that day.'"
Question:
To whom is Jesus referring?
Comment:
He seems clearly to be referring to himself. Fasting is part of an old tradition of sacrifice and a sense of lack in our relationship with the Divine. His is a new message of love and abundance. For his followers to return to an old lack consciousness would be to abandon the new, loving relationship with God.
Blessings!
