Matthew 12:32 "Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven..."
“Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”—Matthew 12:32
Comment:
Jesus has just healed “a demoniac who was blind and mute” (12:22), and the Pharisees have insisted “It is only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons, that this fellow casts out the demons” (12:24). Jesus responds with both legalistic logic and metaphysical truth. If demons are casting out demons, then demon consciousness is at war with itself, and cannot stand. So that’s really good news. “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come to you” (12:28). The metaphysical truth is that we can doubt the messenger and still embrace the message. Jesus never cared much whether people believed in him or not, so long as they were committed to the same universal spiritual principles of love, empowerment and transformation that were the focus of his ministry. But if people simply didn’t believe in the Source, in the universal principles themselves, they were lost until such time as their consciousness changed. There are many paths for exploring and expressing truth; so long as your path is centered in universal truth, it will work for you. But if your path is a path of limitation, judgment, fear and anger, then it will never move you closer to spiritual awareness or expression. Some people get so angry and judgmental in their insistence on one particular messenger, such as Jesus, that they negate the positive energy of infinite Source that is the only important focus.
Blessings!
