Philippians 1:6
"And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6 RSV).
Comment:
Paul is writing from house arrest in Rome to the church in Philippi, in Macedonia, the first group he established on the European continent. Unlike many of his letters to other groups, there appears to be no crisis or problem. Epaphroditus had been sent to Paul with a gift from the church in Philippi, and Paul is sending him back with a note of thanks. He is grateful for their steadfastness, and affirms that the Christ energy they have accepted and recognized in their lives and relationships will be fully realized at "the day of Jesus Christ "—"the age to come" (Matthew 12:32), in which we will fully express ourselves as the Christ, just as Jesus did in his life and ministry.
Blessings!
