"Full of honor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever" (Psalm 111:3).

Comment:

Psalm 111 is a hymn of praise. In its original language and construct, it was designed as an acrostic, each verse beginning with the next letter of the alphabet in sequence. Its theme is established in the first verse: "I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart." The psalmist is recognizing that the good fortune he is enjoying is not due to his own limited talents, but to his willingness to surrender to the Lord—the Presence of the Divine within him. The work is ours to do. The fact that the result of our work is "full of honor and majesty" is the result of our surrendering our human limitations to the infinite Spirit seeking to express and create through us.

Blessings!
