"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end" (Revelation 22:13).

Comment:

The entire Bible begins with the words "In the beginning, God ...” And now, in the final verses of the final book of the Bible, the Voice for God reaffirms that there is nothing but God—there has never been anything but God—in all the dramas, conflicts, lessons and adventures with which we have filled this human experience. "I AM" is the name Moses receives out of the burning bush—it is the name of the Presence of God in each and all of us, seeking to dissolve our resistance so that the I AM of our being can work through us to continue the eternal process of creation. "I AM" is the statement with which Jesus claims and expresses his own Christ Presence, challenging us to do the same. "I AM" is our true spiritual name, defining us as eternal beings unaffected by time or distance, always One with our Source. We can see this verse as a culmination of the great spiritual journey described in the pages of the Bible. We can also, I think, see it as the first verse of yet another journey, as the eternal, divine creative process continues to move us forward.   Blessings!
