“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Comment:

This ringing endorsement is a universal truth that serves us well as we move through our human experience. We are spiritual beings in human form, here by divine appointment to accomplish a spiritual purpose: to be the channels through which the Power of God creates the new consciousness that Jesus describes as “the kingdom of heaven.” So long as we remain focused on that spiritual purpose, then all the many aspects of our lives will “work together for good.” If we forget our spiritual purpose, and try to live our mortal lives for fear-based ends, we will find challenges at every turn. So this passage is not just a promise; it’s a sort of spiritual yardstick. If things seem not to be “working together for good” in our lives, it is never the will of God that that be so. Either we are failing to see the good that is present, or we have allowed ourselves to become distracted from our spiritual purpose.

Blessings!
