Daily Word Submission Guidelines

Daily Word® includes prayer support and inspiration published by Unity. The material is constructive, positive, and inspirational in tone and unbiased. We suggest that prospective contributors familiarize themselves with Daily Word before submitting material. Each issue of Daily Word includes daily messages, two feature articles, and an inspirational poem.

Daily Messages

The daily messages are written by a professional group of Unity writers, including ministers and Truth students from across the United States. We are unable to accept unsolicited submissions of daily messages.

Feature Articles

Written by individuals who have experienced transformation in their lives, these articles should inspire readers to make a similar change through the use of Unity principles. The writer may also recount a deep spiritual experience or describe how they have created a positive life change through the use of Daily Word, the Unity Prayer Ministry, or Unity principles.

Features in Daily Word vary in length between 600 and 750 words. Each submission should include a brief (approximately 30-word) bio. If accepted for publication, authors will be asked for a high-resolution headshot that will be published alongside the bio.

Professional writing experience is not required to have work published in Daily Word. All submissions selected for publication will be edited, and the editor may ask for revisions from the writer.

Please be prepared to supply past writing credits and a brief biography of your education and background in Unity teachings. The one-time payment for articles is $150.

Poetry

Poems submitted for consideration must be original and previously unpublished. Persons or agents submitting poems retain exclusive distribution rights. Unity buys one-time rights to first publish the work in print or electronic form or adapt it to other media. Unity retains the right to edit the work to match its literary and artistic standards. Word count should not exceed 175. The one-time payment for poems is $50.

Submissions

Submissions should be typewritten and double-spaced. Each submission should contain the author’s name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number. Unity cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to unsolicited materials.

Please submit via email or postal mail. If the submission is to be returned to the sender, the submission must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return mailing.
