2 Chronicles 7:12-14 "Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night..."
"Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him, 'I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:12-14).
Comment:
Your original question, as I recall, was about just what was meant by the word land. And I would have to say, everything—everything that we bring into our life experiences through our use of the creative Power of God that is our truth. This passage expresses a fairly primitive understanding of the Law of Creation. We may blame God (or fate, or bad luck) for the evils that befall us. But in fact they are expressions of our own consciousness, results of choices we have made. We have to change our minds, humble ourselves instead of holding to prideful choices, turn away from negative energies and open our hearts to an awareness of the Presence of God. As soon as our thoughts and choices are expressive of our Christ Nature, our error thoughts and their tangible expressions will dissolve, and we will experience the love, joy and abundance of God. Blessings!
