The Bible
Question:
I left Christianity but hunger and thirst for knowledge and the Word of God that I could no longer receive from my religious background.
Comment:
You may have left a religious structure that defined itself as 'Christian,' but you clearly are resonant with the teachings of Jesus. After all, he began his ministry by stating "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied" (Matthew 5:6 RSV). In Unity, we believe Jesus was not claiming unique and special powers, nor was he trying to start a new church. Rather, he was teaching universal spiritual principles, and pointing out the ways traditional religion of his time diverged from those universal principles. Perhaps that change of focus from religious structure to universal principles will help you satisfy your own hunger and thirst.
Blessings!
