Deuteronomy 28:8-11 "The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your barns..."
"The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your barns, and in all that you undertake, and he will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you. The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and walk in his ways. And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground, within the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you” (Deuteronomy 28:8-11 RSV).
Question:
I want to understand and apply the teachings of this particular book in the Bible. I want to prosper and be blessed to bless so many others, not just family and friends. I want to learn to continue to give glory to God. I want help on successfully applying the principles of the Bible and using it as a success tool for my life.
Comment:
This ringing call to spiritual commitment is presented as the conclusion of the final address by Moses to the Hebrew people that constitutes most of the Book of Deuteronomy (although Moses is sometimes referred to in the third person, so the authorship isn't all that clear). Certainly it speaks with an almost epic sense of promise and process. Spiritual laws exist to guide us as we work to accomplish our spiritual purpose while, at the same time, living our mortal lives. The Lord of our being—the Christ Presence that is our true identity—is always available to guide us through the challenges and choices we face. If we align ourselves with that energy, and choose according to those universal laws, not only will our lives be rewarding and joyful, but we will be creating the higher consciousness that Jesus calls “the kingdom of heaven” at the same time. It's a promise and awareness for which the people of that time weren't fully prepared. It took the ministry of Jesus, hundreds of years later, to make its meaning clear, immediate and practical.
Blessings!
