Revelation 3:10

"Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth" (Revelation 3:10 RSV).

Comment:

This passage is from the sixth of the letters to seven churches dictated to John at the onset of his revelation. Metaphysically, they represent a process of awakening our seven chakras, so that we are fully aware and available to the great spiritual work we are undertaking. This letter is to the church in Philadelphia, on Asia Minor, and it relates to the sixth chakra, the pineal gland at the center of the forehead, the 'third eye' that allows us to see spiritually. 

In my book Kingdom Come: Understanding the Book of Revelation, which Unity Books published in 2012, I make this observation concerning the passage: "No matter how tumultuous the world around us may seem as we gaze at it through our two human eyes, there is always another way of seeing it—and of seeing ourselves. Through the third eye of creative intention, we bring our spiritual power to bear on every challenge the world may offer, and we allow ourselves to become the agent of transformation that is needed."
