1 John 5:4 "For whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory..."
For whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith. (1 John 5:4)
Question:
It is the scripture of my Confirmation, when I was 14 years old. The pastor chose it for me.
Comment:
I think your pastor chose well! This is a very positive, clear and affirmative statement of the power of faith. We are “born of God” when we awaken to our Oneness with God. This is the mustard seed of faith that Jesus calls us to find and nurture within ourselves. Using Jesus as a model, we are to believe that we are the Christ in potential expression as he was the Christ in tangible expression. Once we know that spiritual truth about ourselves, we truly overcome whatever challenges or illusions this mortal world may present. It’s just that simple: faith in God, yes, and in Jesus as the perfect expression of the Christ. And faith also in ourselves as full expressions of that same Christ energy.
Blessings!
