Ephesians 3:8-9 "Although I am the very least of the saints, this grace was given..."
Although I am the very least of the saints, this grace was given to me to bring to the Gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ, and to make everyone see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things.
Comment:
This passage beautifully states the underlying purpose of every true ministry. Although Paul was himself an accomplished, learned and committed Jew, his own call to ministry was to non-Jews. His message was that the Christ—the indwelling Presence of God in all people that Jesus Christ demonstrated and taught—is “boundless.” It is not unique to the Jews, but true for people of every spiritual path and no particular path at all. Jesus understood, taught and demonstrated a “mystery hidden for ages”—our innate and indissoluble Oneness with the energy of the divine. Others were focusing on Jesus as a Jewish prophet. Paul was conducting his personal ministry from an understanding that Jesus was sharing universal spiritual truth. He was awakening people to the mystery. And today that remains, I think, the most important purpose of any ministry or minister.
Blessings!
