Ephesians 3:8-11
“Although I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given to me to bring to the Gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ, and to make everyone see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things; so that through the church the wisdom of God in its rich variety might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was in accordance with the eternal purpose that he has carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Ephesians 3:8-11).
Comment:
Although your request concerned only verse 11, I’ve added several others, because verse 11 doesn’t really stand alone as an independent statement. Although Paul was himself an accomplished, learned, and committed Jew, his own call to ministry was to non-Jews. His message was that the Christ—the indwelling Presence of God in all people that Jesus Christ demonstrated and taught—is “boundless”—it is not unique to the Jews, but true for people of every spiritual path and no particular path at all. Jesus understood, taught and demonstrated a “mystery hidden for ages”—our innate and indissoluble Oneness with the energy of the divine. Others were focusing on Jesus as a Jewish prophet. Paul was conducting his personal ministry from an understanding that Jesus was sharing universal spiritual truth. He was awakening people to the mystery. This was Jesus’ spiritual purpose—an eternal purpose emanating from Divine Mind.
Blessings!
