John 20:21-22
"Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.' When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit'" (John 20:21-22).
Comment:
This is from Jesus' post-resurrection appearance to the disciples, who are hiding together for fear of the authorities. He is speaking as the Christ in his full spiritual identity; he has just moved through the most painful of human experiences to establish clearly the eternal Spirit that is our own identity as well. He 'sends' the disciples to teach the possibility of peace in the world. They cannot accomplish this from the fearful perspective of ego mind, so he breathes on them to awaken them to the Holy Spirit—the divine understanding that will express through them as it has expressed through him.
Blessings!
