Luke 18
Question:
I am teaching the story of the rich ruler who is told to give up his wealth and follow Jesus. That is wonderful, however, the first statement from Jesus ... "only God is good" throws me, since I ascribe to the Unity principle that all humans have the spark of divinity within them, and therefore, we are all essentially good. How do I explain this statement to the class?
Comment:
I'm sorry that difficulties prevented an earlier answer to your question. I don't see any contradiction between Jesus and Unity principle here. It is the God within each of us that is good. When we remember our spiritual identity, and live as the Christ we truly are, we will be experiencing the 'good' that is the Presence of God expressing through us.
Blessings!
