Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 RSV).
Comment:
Just prior to this verse, Jesus has made it beautifully clear that he is speaking from Spirit, speaking as the Presence within him: "No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him" (v. 27). So "Come to me" means 'Come to the Christ, the Presence of Spirit within you.' It is only there that we will find strength and rest. If we try to live simply and only from our physical and mental selves, we will indeed find life to be difficult and exhausting. If we simply take time to release to the Spirit we truly are, our burden will be light and our outlook on everything will be peaceful.
I think we're all in need of healing and comfort a lot of the time. I hope this powerful promise helps.
Blessings!
