Proverbs 4:20-21
"My child, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them within your heart" (Proverbs 4:20-21).
Comment:
This is a very forthright admonition from a father to his child. The entire proverb, after all, begins with the words, "Listen, children, to a father's instruction." The importance of paying attention—of staying vigilant at all times—is a spiritually valid teaching today, as is the direction "keep them within your heart." It's always important to subject the input from our senses to the deeper spiritual guidance we find at the heart of our being.
Blessings!
