Hebrews 13:3 "Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them..."
"Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured as though you yourselves were being tortured."

COMMENT: This loving passage affirms the truth that we are all One in spirit. We are all one in the Christ Presence that is our true, shared identity. We are one with the prisoners, one with the tortured—and one with the torturers, as well. This oneness—this shared Christ energy—is the essence of praying for others. Because we are One in spirit we are able to share our own energy of healing and love freely with others. So we pray for others, not as separate beings having different experiences, but by remembering the spiritual oneness that makes their experiences ours, and can equally make my love and concern theirs as well. COLOSSIANS 2:5: "For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, and I rejoice to see your morale and the firmness of your faith in Christ." COMMENT: Another affirmation that physical distance cannot diminish our spiritual Oneness. Paul's travels often kept him far away from the spiritual groups he established, and they sometimes went through many challenges because of his absence. His reminder here is that he is with them in spirit even though distant in the flesh. They can claim and share his love and support, "established in the faith," as he writes in verse 6, expressing and affirming the Christ Presence that is the essence of spiritual Oneness. Blessings!
