“Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way to court with him, or your accuser may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. Truly I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny” (Matthew 5:25).

Question:

Does this apply to releasing error thoughts quickly before the error thoughts are formed in mind and therefore more difficult to erase?

Comment:

Yes, I’d say that’s a valid understanding. But we must be careful not to create energy of fear around the process. If we are afraid of our error thoughts, they’ve already won! There is nothing to fear; but if we try to deal with error thoughts on their own terms—if we try to logically persuade fear-based thoughts that there’s nothing to fear—we will be buying into an attitude toward life that will frustrate and imprison us, keeping us from our spiritual freedom and highest good. Einstein said that we can’t solve a problem at the level of consciousness that creates the problem. Jesus is saying the same thing here. If we try to engage mortal mind on its own terms, we will lose. By choosing instead to see from the spiritual perspective that is always available, we can easily dissolve the appearances of duality and conflict, and experience instead the underlying wholeness.

Blessings!
