Proverbs 16:18-19 "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall..."
"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be of lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud" (Proverbs 16:18-19).
Comment:
Our own human powers and abilities are limited, no matter how much we may feel we have accomplished with them. Our only Source of true Power is the Presence of the divine within us. If we forget that, and begin to take credit for our own lives, we will be assured of destruction, and a fall from the false heights we feel we have achieved. Living in an awareness of our Oneness with God—no matter how it may be expressing in the physical world—will always produce more love and comfort in our lives than trying to grab our share of anything that pride may create.
Blessings!
