Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go..."
Question:
PSALM 32:8 is one of my favorite quotes. I use it to help people realize He's here, every day, just listen. That way you'll remember your keys before you lock the door. I love listening to Rev. Ed and when people are seeking more understanding, I send them his way. So I would just love to hear his answer.

COMMENT: Thanks for the kind words! Psalm 32 is split into two voices. The first (verses 1-7) are those of a jubilant “sinner” who has discovered the power of divine forgiveness. He realizes that his suffering is caused by his efforts to hide his sin. We can't learn from our mistakes and grow if we're unwilling to acknowledge that there's been a mistake in the first place. Once we admit the mistake, we immediately open ourselves to the healing guidance of Spirit – and what seemed to be an unforgivable sin becomes a positive step in spiritual growth. Great message. And then, in verses 8-11, we hear from the voice of God, lovingly underlining the lesson we've just learned. "I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you." All we have to do is show up, and stay open to divine guidance, and it will always be there. Nothing we do can separate us from that guidance, from the Presence of God in our lives, so long as we freely acknowledge our mistakes and remain teachable. "Many are the torments of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds those who trust in the Lord." The wicked judge themselves, believe themselves separate from God, and suffer torments accordingly. If we trust in the Lord, and in the love of the Lord, we will always be invited to 'rejoice' and 'shout for joy.' As we like to say in recovery, we're as sick as our secrets. It's in our willingness to understand that our mistakes don't separate us from God, they simply offer new opportunities for divine guidance to express in our lives that we find joy and fulfillment. Blessings!
