"Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; hearken to my cry of supplication. In the day of my trouble I call on thee, for thou dost answer me" (Psalm 86:6).

Comment:

Psalm 86 is a prayer, attributed to David, for deliverance from personal challenges. Metaphysically we understand it to be a calling upon the Christ—the indwelling Presence of God within each of us—as the strength we need to move through every challenge. If we insist on trying to solve problems through our limited human understanding and abilities, we will indeed feel "poor and needy" (Psalm 86:1). But the Christ—the Lord of our Being—is available to guide us and empower us. We need only remember to call upon its Presence within us, and we can be assured of a loving answer.

Blessings!
