Our mission is to help and serve through prayer, publishing, and community.

Serving the Local Area

Located in the Kansas City metro area, Unity supports the local community in a number of ways.

• We have been a VIP sponsor of a community hunger organization for several years. Feed Lee’s Summit benefits the four main food distribution service organizations in our local community.
• We provide warehouse space for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, who use our facilities as a distribution center for their annual popcorn and cookie fundraisers.
• We hosted the YMCA summer camp, which serves 150 families across 10 weeks of programming.
• We provided space for Wildwood Outdoor Education Center for a summer camp serving more than 200 local children.
• We donated to Project Graduation events for the three Lee’s Summit high schools.
• Unity has hosted Lee’s Summit Rotary Club meetings in our Grand Ballroom for more than 60 years. We have also partnered with the club on projects and events, including the creation of the beautiful Carl L. Chinnery Nature Trail and its annual Community Service luncheon that honors numerous area service organizations.
• Each Unity team member is allowed a paid “volunteer day” each year to serve the organization of their choice.

Sharing Our Beautiful Campus

We are blessed with an abundance of office space and land and share it with a few local organizations at little to no charge.

• We provide land and space for The Gardens at Unity Village for their gardens, orchards, and farmer’s market. The local community lines up weekly at the Unity Apple Barn for fresh veggies and fruit grown at Unity Village. In fall, the feature is homemade apple butter.
• In addition to Unity Worldwide Ministries, we also provide free office space for small nonprofits headquartered at Unity supporting veterans, the arts, and more.
• Unity has partnered with nonprofit organizations who have used our campus for special events to support wounded warriors, trauma survivors, and other groups.

Supporting Our Spiritual Partners

Unity World Headquarters is part of the larger New Thought movement, and we are committed to supporting our spiritual community.

• Unity provides annual scholarships to ministerial students in programs at Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute, Unity Urban Ministerial School, and the Johnnie Colemon Theological Seminary.
• Unity donates sponsorships to organizations such as Parliament of the World’s Religions, Creating Change/National LGBTQ Task Force, Institute of Noetic Sciences, Universal Foundation for Better Living, International New Thought Alliance, Association for Global New Thought, Unity Urban Ministerial School, and so on.
