Exodus 4:24

"On the way, at a place where they spent the night, the Lord met him and tried to kill him."

Comment:

This curious passage suggests that Moses is being punished for undertaking the divine commission while he and his household are still uncircumsized. His wife Zipporah corrected the situation (verse 25) so that the story can continue.
